Liking Kirkland

posted 7 years ago

This review is for the Chicken & Rice Formula. A 25 lb bag was given to us to try as the person swears by it. The price, from what I was told, is very reasonable compared to other similiar brands. The kibble is a nice bite size for the cats. There are no corn products or other fillers like glueton. It has chicken for protien, antioxidants, added taurine, natural fiber as in dried chicory root that maintains gastrointestianal health, and chelated minerals. What I've noticed is that my cats are not throwing this food up like with so many brands, especially the cheap brands. Also, they do like the taste. Some of my cats are old and so their nutrition is very important to me and with a brand I can trust to feed them.

Pros: Cats enjoy the taste

Cons: none

The Best!

posted 7 years ago

In 2003, my husband and I moved with our four cats to Florida. We started seeing a feline specialist for them. At my first visit, she took a basic history and asked about their eating habits, specifically what kind of food I fed them. I said our cats love the Kirkland brand of food and their coats are so shiny since then. I also mentioned that my husband had fed the cats Science Diet before, but this seemed to work just as well, with the extra benefit, of a shinier coat, and at a better price. My feline specialist immediately launched into a lecture about how I needed to feed the cats a premium food. Standing my ground, I asked what determined a premium food. My specialist gave me a list of questions to ask to determine if the food was "any better than shoe leather." I thought it was the worth the over $20 per bag to investigate, so I called the number on the bag. The wonderful customer service rep was able to answer my questions or get someone who could. Turned out, "Costco crunchies" passed the test with flying colors. I reported back to our specialist, who was pleased with the results and research.

We now have six cats, all adults, ages 3-13, two with sensitive tummies. They all love the food. It is also inexpensive enough to feed the outdoor feral cats in our alley.

Pros: Best price, great taste, very healthy

Cons: Driving to Costco

Tasty

posted 6 years ago

One of my cats gets skin rashes that my vet determined was a food allergy. I was buying expensive special-diet food, but I have two cats that eat together, so this was an expensive alternative, plus they didn't really like the taste. My niece told me that her vet said Costco cat food was low allergin. I switched a couple of years ago and we've only had one outbreak since, and I think that was stress-related.

Pros: My cats love it

Cons: Have to buy 25 pounds at a time

Great Food at Great Price!

posted 5 years ago

I really started taking a good look at what I feed my animals.

When I saw this food at Costco when I joined and looked at the ingredients it immediately went into my cart!

25 lbs. of quality food for $16.99? Unbelievable!

I have four cats now and they like to eat. One cat has gotten chubby on this food but I think my family was giving them too much food. This has been curtailed and she is getting thinner.

They LOVE this food. I ran out once and went to a pet store and read all the labels and chose another food that had no grains and they would not touch it! I finally got to Costco, got another bag of the Kirkland and they were very happy.

Their coats are shiny, they look really healthy and they are so soft!

Pros: Nutricious, Great Ingredients, Cheap!

Cons: None

I was very happy to have to only spend $15.00 for a bag of dry cat food that is also good for the cats. We have been spending a fortune on pet food and some of my cats have gotten chunky.Best of all ,all my cats like it!

Pros: All 12 cats like it

Cons: None

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
