Hartz is one of the heavyweights when it comes to pet food and products. I’ve reviewed many of their flavorful dog treats and toys over the years – everything from flea baths to kibbles to chewy ropes. The company’s Crunch ‘n Clean Cat Treats, however, was the first cat product from their line of feline goodies that I ever witnessed our tester cat sample.
The concept behind Hartz Crunch ‘n Clean Cat Treats is by no means a new idea. Dental helper treats have been a staple on the pet product market for years. But what Hartz Crunch ‘n Clean Cat Treats are doing that is new is pairing a robust tartar control program – one that is clinically proven to reduce tartar build up by seventy-five percent – with a protective shield that forms around your cat’s teeth in order to prevent further buildup. The snacks also contain essential vitamins and minerals that improve dental health for your cat — but don’t make them any less enjoyable to eat.
When I gave Hartz Crunch ‘n Clean Cat Treats to our tester cat for the first time I was impressed by the results. Not only did she gulp them down, savoring the salty and chewy chicken flavor, but the food didn’t come back up again as is so often the case with our tester cat’s sensitive stomach. So I was pleased with the digestibility of Hartz Crunch n’ clean. And while the treats to have some additives and preservatives, these don’t raise any eyebrows — and the snacks more than make up for their presence with their benefits to your cat’s dental health.
Pros: Combines tartar control with buildup protection; cats enjoy the flavor.
Cons: Not entirely all-natural, but dental benefits make up for the presence of additives.
