Better than a plastic carrier

posted 6 years ago

My cat, Buddy, HATES car rides. He cries and cries. We used to take him to the vet and stuff in one of those big plastic carriers. He would always piddle and poo in their, from the fear and stress of it all. We bought him a Petmate carrier recently to try to make it more comfortable for him, and it was helpful. He did not cry as much on his most recent trip to the vet. And for the first time, he did not lose control of his bladder or bowels on the trips there or back. He must be more comfortable in this carrier. He is a 12 pound cat, so he's at the larger end of the scale, but he still had plenty of room, and seemed to be far more comfortable in this than in a plastic carrier. I really like how easy and comfortable it is for me to carry. It has a strap to carry it, if you want to use that, and it's not as big and bulky as a plastic carrier. My only wonder is, if he does piddle in it someday, will it be harder to clean this than a plastic carrier? I doubt it, as the product claims to be washable.

Pros: comfortable for cat and for me to carry

Cons: none so far

Our Cat Was To Smart

posted 6 years ago

Our cat was able to work her way out of the zippered top of the carrier. The next time I used it I put an additional clasp on it thinking it would keep her in and once again she was able to work her way out.

Pros: Some

Cons: Some

Nice carrier

posted 6 years ago

I love this carrier, but I think my cat gets nervous being in something that has open sides. I cover it with a blanket when we travel and that works great!

Pros: light, easy to carry

Cons: cat doesn't love it

Ok

This is an okay carrier. I prefer hard covered, but this kind is ok for quick trips and it is easy to store away.
