They Go GaGa For Tuna!

posted 6 years ago

WOW. I feed all cats this wonderful food. My cats at home love it. It's a special treat at the shelter. Once we rescued this cat who would not eat anything. On a hunch I went to Trader Joe's and bought a few cans. She gobbled it down. Needless to say I stocked up the cabinet with it, and when she got adopted I sent lots of cans home with the adopter!

Pros: good quality, very tasty, affordable, has added nutrients for cats

Cons: Large cans would be great (probablly not overall practical, but for some, yes)

Cat LOVES this stink-tacular treat!

posted 5 years ago

Hoo whee, you better watch out when you open a can of this stuff at our place. My 16 pounder will come flying out of nowhere, screaming her head off in excitement!

We found this at TJ's a while ago, and thought we would give it a try for the big kitty, the lover of all things stinky and fishy. It has a weird dark color to it, but you can see, it's definitely all fish, no fillers.

We have to make sure that she doesn't eat it too fast, which she has done before. We give this to her as a once-in-a-while special treat, not as regular everyday cat food.

If your cat is a tuna/fish enthusiast, I would *highly* recommend this product.

Great product + great price + happy kitty = you can't go wrong!

Pros: can't think of any

Cons: only when they are out of stock

Decent quality and price

posted 6 years ago

This tuna is a little darker in color than "tuna for humans" but seems to be a decent quality and good value. Only hassle is you need a can opener for it. And it stinks a lot, but I think the cats like the stink. Our cats liked this a lot more when they were kittens than they do now.

Pros: Decent quality, affordable

Cons: Need a can opener

We use this a the shelter to food cats who need to be medicated and are too hard to pill directly. They love it and don't even know they are getting medicine.

Pros: Great to hide meds in

Cons: none

No onion, no garlic--perfect for cats!

posted 6 years ago

Our vet has cautioned us about feeding tuna or "tuna water" that contains garlic or onion, and most of the brands in our region contain one or both. Trader Joe's doesn't--and it's very reasonably priced.

Pros: No onion or garlic

Cons: We don't have a TJ's nearby

I have 3 cats and they love this food. They eat less and walk away with a full belly. Eating less means pooping less and less litter. All around a great choice for my cats.
