Love this food!

posted 6 years ago

Last year my cat, Pooh Bear, got very ill. He would not stop vomiting and was eating little. He was so sick we had to bring him to the vet several times and a $1,500 unnecessary surgery later, we found out he had food allergies. Since he has been on IVD, green peas and rabbit food, he rarely vomits and enjoys eating. His fur is so soft and he seems much happier since he has been on this diet. He has been on IVD for over a year and I would highly recommend IVD if your cat has allergies or is hypersensitive to certain types of food.

Pros: Less vomit, eating more, smell is not bad

Cons: only comes in a HUGE bag!

IVD Venison & Green Peas

posted 5 years ago

We tried a lot of different limited ingredient diets for my allergic cat before finding this one which didn't make his skin condition worse and that he'd eat for more than 2 weeks. Another bonus is that our other cat likes it, too, which makes mealtimes a lot easier since we don't have to feed them separately. The only drawback is that it's really expensive.

Pros: Doesn't make allergies worse

Cons: High Cost

Helps skin allergies caused by food

posted 6 years ago

We this IVD formula with one of our cats in the shelter that came down with horrible skin allergies. We tried several different formulas before we were recommended to try this one. The cats skin has cleared up for the most part with only residual outbreaks every now and again.

Pros: lessens allergic dermatitis caused by food

Cons: cost

Need work with me cat.

posted 6 years ago

I was disappointed when this didn't help with my cats vomiting and diarrhea problems. I realize though that it is not going to help all patients and I would be willing to try it again if it was recommend for any of my other cats.

Pros: tasty

Cons: expensive

Good cat food

posted 5 years ago

My cat has bad food allergies and IBD and we recently had to switch him to venison. He loves this food and has handled it rather well. Bad source of protein to try to fatten a cat up though, as it is a rather lean protein source.

Pros: cat loves it

Cons: smells bad
