K/D is a tasty canned feline food for kitties with CHF and liver difficulties. All of the kitties love it and our Chihuahua. It can't hurt them to stay healthy. Now to avoid any kidney problems this is one out of two wet foods that I only use.

Whiska's Wet Packets of Fish have an Ocean Entree with 7.0 crude protein (a little higher than K/D) but only 2.0 fat content which is great for my kitty with liver difficulties.

Pros: Low in crude protein

Cons: Would like lower fat content for liver difficulty kitties

My 14yo tabby was recently diagnosed with chronic renal failure. She had lost a third of her body weight & her coat was dry & brittle. She had no appetite & what food she did eat provided too much protein which was building up in her system. After 3 days in the hospital she was placed on this canned food. She immediately started eating again. She ate every two hours & started gaining weight & strength. Her coat is looking better & her blood levels are better too. This food has given her a quality of life that she would not have had otherwise.

Pros: helps with decreased kidney function

Cons: a little expensive

My cats have been eating Hill's for almost 2 years and their coats have never been so soft. Every one who pets them says they can't believe it either. And they seem so healthy and alive. There is never any scratching except for an occasional flea. And they love the taste. (So do my dogs who sneek in and steal the cats food!)

Pros: Fur is so soft, healthy animals.

Cons: Not enough varieties of flavor.
