Yummy stuff but....

posted 5 years ago

Both my cats are fond of all the Fancy Feast flavors we have tried, be they sliced, marinated, the smooth style, roasted or grilled and the Grilled Salmon & Shrimp Feast in Gravy is no exception. And once again, as in all the other offerings, the ingredients are not the very best. Take the first ten here: Fish Broth, Salmon, Liver, Wheat Gluten (inexpensive form of protein, but not necessarily a good one), Meat By-Products (ugly stuff), Chicken, Corn Starch, Shrimp (finally), Natural and Artificial Flavors and Tricalcium Phospate (the main combustion product of lime, a food additive, and an important raw material for the production of fertilizers!). These ingredients are followed by added vitamins and minerals and some artificial coloring. As much as my cats may like the Fancy Feast products I am sorry to say that we are slowly switching to healthier choices because I believe in the long run my cats will be healthier for it.

Pros: CATS LIKE THE TASTE - READILY AVAILABLE

Cons: ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS AND COLORS - WHEAT GLUTEN - MEAT BY-PRODUCTS

He had this for the first time today!

posted 5 years ago

Kittles, being so fussy, does not eat all of the flavors of Fancy Feast. I purchased this on Friday to see if I could add it to the list of the flavors he will eat. Good news, he ate it all!

I was surprised at the size of the chunks of food. So when I fed him, I mashed it with a fork to make the chunks smaller. (He has never liked big chunky food!)

I am thankful to have another flavor to add to his favorite Fancy Feast list!

Pros: he loved it

Cons: chunks are a little too big

Gravy too rich

posted 5 years ago

The cats love the other salmon flavors however when we give them the type with the gravy it upsets their tummy and makes them sick. The gravy is too rich for their ssystems. If we stick to the other flavors we do just fine.

Pros: good size can

Cons: upset tummy

I wonder about what a lot of the ingredients in this brand are. I worry about the long term effects on their health, even though it has the nutrition they need.

Pros: kitties like it

Cons: wonder about the ingredients

Only food my cat will eat

posted 5 years ago

When Gypsy came from the shelter, the vet recommended canned food to me. FF grilled is the only food she will eat - I've given up trying others.

Pros: Vet recommended canned food for water content and this has gravy

Cons: sometimes chunks are very large and a little harder to eat
