I consult with a pet psychic, Diane Samsel, from time to time. She's terrific. Anyway, for one of my cats she suggested that I provide him with a water fountain as he really liked moving water and that might help with some behavior problems he was having. So I bought this one and its a great fountain. It hold plenty of water and does quietly keep it moving. All the cats like it but I can't say that its resolved the bad behavior that I bought it for. But they like it and I like it too. Doesn't cost much to run either.

I got one of these fountains when I realized that one fountain is not enough for three adult cats. I got it on sale because you know how expensive these can be. Mine doesn't have a bowl attached, it's just the dome. I really like it. The water lasts longer than my petmate fountain and stays fresh and cool. The filter doesn't last really long because my cats paw at it so it collects hair. The only thing I don't like about it is the screw on the top that you're supposed to lift it up with really doesn't work to well. Other than that I would recommend it (especially if you can find it on sale!).

My cats like putting their paws in the water and then it would have cat litter dust in it and would have to be changed all the time. One of my cats seemed to be afraid of it. They like a shiney metal cat dish and they were easier to keep fresh and clean.

it's a great way to get the cats drinking more water, which is important. they are fascinated by the running water, so it's a health benefit and entertainment! they sit and watch it as often as they drink from it. the noise doesn't bother them, but i when i have houseguests, i have to unplug the one in the guest room...

Cons: i haven't been able to teach the cats to clean it..
