Simon And Schuster Guide To Cats

Like a birding guide, but it's for breeds of cats.
posted 4 years ago
This in a paperback book with 250+ glossy pages and 200 color photos. In open with a 120+ "Introduction" that includes everything from how cats befriended humans to facial language, how to tell boy kittens from girl kittens, birthing process, grooming, medical care and much more.
The introduction is followed sections on Longhair breeds & Shorthair Breeds, and a Glossary of Cat Concerns". In the front of the book they have a picture key that givens you symbols for the amount of grooming, sociability, how long a breed lives, if it's good with children, likes to travel, and more.
Each breed entry contains the key symbols, the origin of the breed, description/standard of the breed, character, ideal owner, environment, diet, care, reproduction, training and faults of this breed, along with several photos.
I like the book, I think it's good, so I gave it a 5, but there are better breeds guides out there.
Pros: Same great quality as other S&S Guides, nice color photos and excellent information
