Trying to understand

posted 7 years ago

Friends of mine have beagles. We always have alot of beagles at our shelter. They are not my favorite breed of dog. Sorry, but they just aren't. But I really am trying to understand the breed more since Differ's "boyfriend" is part beagle and part rat terrier. ( I think I like the rat terrier part better). But any way, I am trying to understand this breed.

I saw this magazine that is Beagles from the editors of Dog Fancy mag. I have similar mags like this from the editors of dog fancy mag on Bully breeds, Tips on Tricks and more. They do have specific breed magazines like Beagles for each breed of dog. The cost is $9.99. Yes, I spent 10 bucks to understand beagles better.

The magazine talks about picking the right beagle, helping to find the right trainer, 7 sports to keep your beagle busy, master the hunt with your beagle, and 10 reasons to own a beagle.

So here is the 10 reasons to own a beagle from the Beagles Magazines from the Editors of Dog Fancy Magazine. (words in ( ) are from me).
1. Beagles are amazing cute. (I will give them that).
2. Beagles will work for food, you never have to find another way to motivate this breed. ( I agree with this).
3. Beagles are wonderful family dogs and great with kids. (yes, I have seen a beagle tolerate kids).
4. Beagles have deep, thoughtful eyes, and they seem to know what you are thinking. (or more like what they can get into next).
5. With a loud baying barks and cries, its difficult to lose your beagle. (right, not)
6. If you're hunting rabbit, your beagle will help you find them. (right again, not)
7. If you lost Thumper, your pet rabbit, your beagle will help you find him. (right again, not).
8. If you lose a cheese sandwich, your beagle will help you find it. (easy since it is already in the beagle's belly)
9. Did we mention that beagles are darn cute. (yes)
10. Beagles give unconditional love especially if you have a snack in hand. (I believe that).

So think you want a beagle, get this magazine and make sure it is a breed for you. I am still not sure about beagles and not sure if I could handle one being even an "in-law"

Pros: filled with info

Cons: still don't understand beagles

Still learning why

Beagles!! Either you hate them, like them, or love them enough to live with them. Which person are you. I fall under the like them section. I have several friends who own beagles. I have 2 friends who run Beagle R Us Rescue. Beagles are everywhere.

So I was kind of glad the wife picked up this Magazine which only talks about beagles. I am like the articles and love the one about Making "Scents" of the breed-learning to live with your nosy pal".

After reading most of the magazine, I can see how some folks might like a beagle. But I just don't think there will be a beagle living in this place. Least it was crossed with a pit bull. But then again, that might not be two good breeds to cross. And what would you call it a Pigle.

They can come to visit any time, but the beagles go home at dark.

Pros: information, tips, advice

Cons: only about beagles (ha,ha)

Finally, a magazine I can really relate to! Some friends bought this to understand me and my crew better… ? and then presented it to me as a gift! I’ve seen other breed magazines by Dog Fancy but had yet to come across the Beagle issue. Love it! I love the information about the beagle’s history and the top ten reasons you WANT a beagle. Awesome photos and information on beagle care and training. I am planning on having this with at adoption events with Beagles R Us as a reference tool for those who are considering this breed.

Beagles paw UP for this one!!! AARROOO!
