Great Food for Converting Stubborn Seed Eaters!

posted 5 years ago

My finches all used to be stubborn seed eaters, and refused to try different pelleted foods, which are healthier and more nutritionally complete.

I decided to give ZuPreem's Fruit Flavor formula for Canaries and Finches, and the birds readily sampled the food and actually ate most of it.

I now feed my finches ZuPreem's Canary and Finch Formula (Fruit Flavor) and they seem to enjoy it, eating it eagerly and not making a great deal of waste by throwing it out of their food bowls.

Highly recommended...the ZuPreem line of bird foods have always been my favorites and these foods have always been well-accepted by all of my birds (finches, canaries, cockatiels, conures, lovebirds, parrots).

Pros: Widely available, excellent nutrition, great for converting stubborn seed eaters, accepted willingly by birds

Cons: A bit more costly, but worth the extra expense.

My Review...

posted 5 years ago

My Canaries love this product...I usually mix it in with their seed. I don't believe that any one product is 100% nutritionally sound for any pet I have. And I also believe in variety for my canaries as for my diet. ZuPreem is a good manufacturer of all types of animal/bird diets.

Pros: Easy to dispense, less mess than seed hulls

Cons: Would not use exclusively as a diet

Nine Finches (Probably) Can't Be Wrong!

posted 5 years ago

My finches have loved this for years, and the newest guys (2 months old) are learning quickly. It's one of their two staple foods, but I also use it to help introduce them to something new by mixing a bit of it into the new food. Works every time!

Pros: Very nutritious; small enough for finches to handle

Cons: Can stain fabric/carpets (especially the red pellets) if it spills

I Don't Know

posted 5 years ago

I DON'T KNOW how the canaries like it, but it's THE rave of the finches out here in the BriarPatch !!

Seems to me that ZuPreem has another winner in this Fruit Blend Flavor Diet for canaries and finches.

Pros: GR8 for the finches !! ... according to the FINCHES !!

Cons: none

Awesome stuff!

posted 4 years ago

this stuff can be a bit spendy, but if you can afford it go for it. we got a couple of small bags and we mix it with the treats we make them and with the other food they eat. the smell is wonderful.

Pros: we can feed it with their seed or when we make them a special treat

Cons: price
