Wild Harvest Mixed Fruit & Nut Treat

When I saw the 8 in 1 "Wild Harvest Mixed Fruit & Nut Treat" for ALL birds, I thought it would make a nice Christmas "present" for the wild birds. I thought the price was a bit high (almost $3.00 for the 11 ounce box), but it was probably only going to be a "one-time" or occasional purchase for the wild birds.

Although the "Mixed Fruit & Nut Treat" does contain peanuts, safflower seed, dried mango, dried pineapple, dried apricot, and dried dates--which I'd consider "treats"--the first ingredient is WHEAT, the third ingredient is Canary Grass Seed, the fourth ingredient is Flax Seed, and the eighth (of ten) ingredient is Nijer. I do not consider any of the latter (with perhaps the exception of the more expensive Nijer) "treats", but "fillers".

In short, I didn't see this box of "treats" as containing much "treat", especially when taking into consideration the price.

Pros: A "Treat" For Wild Birds; Contains Fruits and Nuts

Cons: Expensive ($3.00 per 11 ounces); Contains Too Much "Canary Grass Seed"
