Great Little Bird Bath -- For the Deck Rail or On a Pole

posted 5 years ago

I purchased this bird bath because it was relatively inexpensive and I liked the idea of being able to mount it on a pole (included) or on one of my deck rails. When you mount the bath on your deck rail, it just tilts to the side to empty.

I just recently started feeding the birds and a friend of mine told me how important it is to be sure water is available to the birds at all times. In fact, he told me not to even feed the birds if I wasn't going to provide water. So, I went with a heated bird bath. This one uses 75W -- which does keep the water open -- even though it's been bitterly cold around here. I've tried shutting the power off at night and turning it on first thing in the morning -- long before daylight -- but, when the temperature is below freezing, it seems to take all day to melt all the ice in the bath. So, I'll be leaving it plugged in all night.

The electric cord on the bath is relatively short -- easy to tuck away underneath the bath when heating is no longer required.

It was also easy to set-up. I'd recommend this product.

Pros: Versatile Mounting

Cons: Need to Heat It All Day and All Night to Keep It Ice-Free
