This toy is interesting even to cockatiels
posted 6 years ago
I got this for my cockatiels. It seems like bigger birds would only like it, but two of my four birds were interested in it and carried it around a lot. They didn't use their feet to carry it like a larger bird would.
The toy, as it sits in the bottom of the cage, will get pooped on if the birds are above it. However, I was able to clean it easily by soaking it in water with some bleach. I scrubbed it after a while and the poop came off very easily.
After a few years of being in the outside aviary, the toy has seen better days. The colors were still fairly vibrant, but I felt that it should be replaced.
The toy is made of hardwood, so it lasted very long. I think the ends were glued in, but I haven't had a problem with the birds being able to take off the ends.
Overall I would recommend it for any bird cockatiel and larger.
Pros: Wood, durable, easy clean
Cons: It can get droppings on it

Great foot toy for medium to larger birds
posted 6 years ago
I use this to play with my medium to larger size parrots and also when they are out of the cage on their playpens as foot toys. Because the rings move back and forth, and it is made of wood, they like picking it up and chewing it.
They also like to play fetch (of course they toss and I fetch) and they also like to play catch me if you can. They take it and run away with it while I have to catch them and pretend to try to take it away. I also roll i across the table while they fetch it.
Great toy for a lot of games.
Pros: Colorful, nontoxic, moving pieces, keeps bird occupied
Cons: None I can think of
