I have one of these and I love it. My birds really like it a lot too. I have four cockatiels in a large homemade cage (made of 1/2 inch by 1 inch wire, and about 3 ft wide, 2 ft deep, and 2 feet high). I put this deck higher up in the cage so the birds can sit there and relax since they like being higher up.

The hooks attach very easily, however, when you set it up, sometimes the deck area isn't level with the ground, so you might need to bend it a little bit at the edge that rests against the cage to get it level. To attach, you need to push the ends through the cage wire, and then pull back and level it. It can be a little tricky if you try to hang it directly, since the hook part is long.

The black epoxy finish is very durable. My birds are outside and I have scrubbed the deck many times to clean it and so far it looks like new. It doesn't get very dirty as the birds do not soil it with feces as they poop over the edge most of the time.

The spacing between the mesh is rather wide, so smaller birds and baby birds might have difficulty as their feet will go through. The one advantage is that the baby cockatiels learn quickly to have the proper foot spread, (two toes forward, two back), as when they are young, all the toes tend to be forward.

I did have one female bird sit there to lay an egg, which fell through the spacing and cracked (the eggs were not fertile though).

Overall I would recommend this to bird owners. The size is just right for lovebirds and bigger. The color, though black, blends in with the surroundings and makes it easier to see your birds (than in a white cage).

Three of my birds sleep on it, the fourth sleeps on the perch nearby (only because it's too crowded for four of them).

Cons: Spacing is too wide for any bird smaller than a cockatiel

We have 2 of these and just love them. We can hang them anywhere on the cage.
