When I first introduced these to my greys and meyers, amazon and senegals, they all loved them and shredded them to pieces. But after a week, they lost interest...isn't that the way with most toys?

The answer is to put them away for a couple of months and then bring them out again and walla!!! They think they are new!.

The cockatiel does not seem interested, but I did not try hanging it and he is not much for foot toys that he has to hold onto. It is a little big for his small feet to hold onto I think.

I am not sure what these are colored with though and had a little concern about the dyes. Does anyone know?

My barraband parakeet, Toneberry, loved these when I brought them home. He was quick to snatch one from me and make off with it onto his play pen. It was a very tempting toy that allowed me to play tug of war with him, too. However, when his attention span had reach a limit with it he would drop it with ease an poop on it if I wasn't quick to pick it up off his play pen floor. I couldn't find a good way to hang it or attach it to keep him from dropping it when he was done with it for the time being.

Pros: Easy for the bird to tote around.

Cons: Easy for bird to drop, forget, and poop on it.

I get toys that have these in them because he loves to sit there and start at the top of it and work his way down till its gone! He's a cockatiel so he usually doesn't do it in a day, but he's very persistent! He loves them so much that if the toy hangs from the top of the cage and is big enough, he sleeps on the toy right next to it!
