Great for birds to get back up to their cages
posted 6 years ago
I have various types of long ladders but these come in very long lengths. I do not use them inside the cages. I use them for those parrots that fly off of their cages (they are trimmed to fly down but not get loft to fly up), and struggle with getting up around the cage skirt to get back into the cage.
This is mainly a problem with smaller parrots/parakeets (did you know the only difference is the length of the tail?).
Anyway, the smaller birds in particular can not haul themselves up over the cage skirt so these are perfect so if they fly down, they can get back up.
Occasionally, the medium smaller ones like conures, meyers, senegals etc. will also chew on them, but oh well, that keep them active also. They are low priced so they can be replaced like toys.
I recommend these for anyone with small birds they let out of the cages (supervised of course.).
Pros: Comes in longer sizes, loops around cage bars for steadiness
Cons: Parrots also chew on them...but maybe that is a pro

Ladders are good for young birds
posted 7 years ago
At first my tiel would get underneath his ladder and get confused and trapped. But once he figured it all out, it helped him get up to his higher perches. Always a good addition to any cage.
Pros: Good for little birds who need help
Cons: They can get stuck under them
