I make bird toys from these by stringing vege macaroni on them. Birds can not strangle because they are stiff enough unlike using string or rope. They are vegetable tanned so are non toxic and they can be reused. I knot them and use quick links to fasten them to the cage.

By using vege macaroni instead of pony beads or like, I don't have to worry about the bird accidently getting a pony bead stuck in their throat although that never did happen to any of my birds.

Additionally, I string pieces of koolaid colored wood on them. Some I just knot into balls of knots as birds just love to untie knots.

These are great for various toys and you can make the ones that your birds like. When they get dirty you can throw them away, but until then you can reuse/restring the strips.

These are great to make bird toys. Birds love leather and it is safe for them. I have had birds of ALL sizes...from a cockatiel to a Macaw and ALL of them have loved leather.

my quakers and tiels love to chew on this stuff so i cant really make a toy out of it or they would just break it but it is a toy in itself awesome
