I had a parrotlet that lost its mate and was unbelievably shy and phobic after that and get terribly disturbed anytime we walked in the room with the cage.

I moved him near my bedroom and put in one of these happy huts and it helped a lot as then he had a place to hide in his cage anytime he felt threatened.

He never pooped in it or dragged food in it. He hever even scraped or cleaned his beak off in it. I had an extra in case it needed changing.

For my larger birds they have wooden "hidey holes" and none of them would use these, but it seems llike parrotlets and smaller birds are more comfortable with them.

Pros: Great for hiding for phobic bird

JoJo loves his happy hut so much he won't use anything else. He sleeps on his back at night in it, and goes to it anytime he is scared :)
I would never make him go without one :)

my bird ALWAYS sleeps in this thing. Its soft, warm, makes her feel secure, and blocks out some of the lights/noise when she's tired.

It becomes easily soiled, but I've solved the problem by putting a rag in the bottom of it. I can replace the rag whenever it gets dirty - like birdie sheets!

I also own two of these, so if I need to wash it, she has a spare. It endures the washer and drier quite nicely.

My bird crackers has a blue happy hut in his cage and he is in there most of the day. He likes to sit in there and watch everything that is going on around him. It does tend to get very dirty though and should be cleaned often but other then that i think it is a great product and people should consider getting one if their bird is looking for a place to hang out.
