this is a good idea for people who like to feed outdoor creatures like squirrels and birds. I really like the idea of these.

I periodically feed the squirrels and geese with this corn. I just throw it on the ground near the backwater near my house and it is all gone by the next day. Not only do the squirrels and guess love it, the raccoons come running as well. I usually buy it at Walmart or the local pet store. They are very inexpensive. I use to hang it on a tree on a squirrel feeder stand just made for these corn ears, but the squirrels have distroyed several of these so I do not purchase them anymore, It is easier to just throw these on the ground.

I bought these for the squirrels but discovered the birds like them as well. I keep a bag for the winter months & put a few ears out in a feeder for the squirrels each day. They always chatter their gratitude when I come outside with the corn. They love it & it gives them a little something extra to nibble on during the winter. The birds like to pick at the leftovers & I even have an occasional opposum come along for a snack of corn at night. All my wildlife critters seem to be very happy with the corn.

if you try to make your own from dried corn around halloween, be sure to use a miter box and a saw when cutting. i made the mistake of using a large serrated knife and ended up slicing a tendon in my left index finger and had to have surgery to repair the damage. also, be sure to use a masonry drill bit instead of a wood bit...works better...

My grandma puts this out throughout the summer for the birds and squirrels. They enjoy it and keep coming back for more.
