Works well for double coated dogs
posted 5 years ago
This is not in the right place, but I have one of these that I use to wash my dogs.
I have two GSDs and they both have double coats. One is a long haired GSD. This zoom groom works great to work the shampoo down to the skin. You know what I mean, if you don't the dog still smells after you rinse them off. Using this scrubber, you can shampoo with gusto and have a lot of lather. It rinses clean.
I still have problems when it is all soapy because it can slip out of your hand. The formed grips help a lot.
I also use this to gather up loose fur that is on the dog beds. I just rub it along the bed and it works to gather up the fur into a neat pile that I can throw away.
While lathering your dog, the loose fur comes out and then builds up on the zoom groom. I just tap it on the ground or bottom of the tub, and it falls right off. Afters I just gather up the matted fur clumps and toss them in the trash.
When it gets really old, the texture feels kind of sticky and that's when you need to replace it.
Pros: For washing dogs
Cons: Not for birds!

One of my FAVORITES!
posted 5 years ago
When I bathe Apache/Cheyenne I use this to rub shampoo through their coats. It's fabulous for working the undercoat loose. When they are dry, it doesn't work quite as well due to volume/length of coat. Can't use it with Chippewa at all, his hair is too fine. Used to love it when I had my Rotties!!
Pros: Great way to help clear undercoat
Cons: Best for short haired dogs

Great for dogs, not for birds
posted 5 years ago
Not sure why this is in with bird stuff, I don't think I'd want to try it on the cockateils. However, the dogs absolutely love to be groomed with this. I'm guessing it must feel like a good massage from the way they act. If I use it on one, all the other dogs line up to be next up for it!
Pros: feels good to the dog
Cons: none

Absolute must for bathing

We use this at the shelter when we are bathing the dogs. The dogs seem to love the feel of it and it removes all that loose fur. It massages them while getting a bath.
Pros: lasts forever
Cons: none
