All birds need suet, fat, for energy and esp. in the cold winter we have. I buy this Feathered Friend high Energy Suet as it comes in a convenient 6-pack and is inexpensive.

I also get the Feathered Friends mix pack of beef suet, peanut butter and this high energy suet.

So many birds come to the suet feeder. I esp. have a lot of beautiful bluejays that come.

I have been very pleased with it. It even weathered well threw the rain. The only thing I don't like is that I have a mountain jay that has found it. You have to understand I live in northern California. About 300 ft above sea level and I have never seen a mountain jay before. Now he won't leave. I just am afraid he is scaring off the little birds.

I love the suets because there isn't any preparation to do. You just open the package and put the cake out into a suet holder or hang near tree branches. I have bought them in a 6 count package which was a bit cheaper then when buying single suets. They do attract the birdies so make sure you have plenty on hand.

this is a wonderful suet especially for winter when the birds have to work harder for everything. even the little birds like the chickadees will grab a little. having a high energy level will also keep them warm. i recoment this and most suets for helping them through the winter months
