I had one bird identification book with photos. I found this to be an eye-opener to so many birds that came to my feeders. I was amazed at he different birds. Colors, behaviors.

Sibley's book can be used for bird ID but it is also very descriptive of the changing feather patterns, body of the bird, as seasons change. A lot on birds sounds.

I like the drawings of the birds and discussion on sketching birds. I like to paint, watercolor, and the birds are most beautiful with their various colors. This book was a great purchase.

Sibley's books are incredible and this one is no exception.anyone interested in birds will be rewarded by this book. it teaches how to identify any bird by site and sound, where they live, migration routes, times of year and how to watch them. if nothing else after reading this book one will be more aware and appreciative of birds of all types.

this is a great bird id book the only one i have ever found better is the north american field guide. both of these books are very good at describing any tpe of bird you may see.
