I always have to buy thistle seed for our small backyard finches. We have several types of thistle feeders...And, have tried several brands of thistle seed.

We have one that has 6 feeding ports and I have been blessed with having 6 goldfinches on it at one time.

Truly a wonderful sight for when we are sitting out on the deck.

I would imagine that the Kaytee Premium thistle seed tastes good and does not give the finches a bellyache since they come and eat it every day...In numbers!

Pros: squirrels don't bother it

Cons: pricey

No matter what brand of Thistle Seed I put out, the birds won't touch it. At first I tried the grocery store brand and, when they wouldn't touch that, I thought I'd try a 'name' brand. Once again, they just won't touch it.

Pros: Healthy, easy to find

Cons: Birds don't eat, goes to waste

This is another great seed by a reliable company. It has a high oil and protein content and finches and chickadees love it.

Pros: My feeder birds love it
