Don't use over-the-counter medicine.

posted 6 years ago

This product should ONLY be used if suggested by a certified avian vet. Over the counter medications in most cases don't work and some can even harm your bird [ie- mite and lice cage protectors] Please, if you believe your bird to have mites or lice, bring it to a certified avian veterinarian.

Pros: None

Cons: Should only be used if directed by an avian vet, may be toxic.

Works if used according to directions

posted 6 years ago

We had a couple of outbreaks of mites as wild birds would often come and visit our large walk-in aviary. As a result, some of the birds got mites. We were able to control and eliminate it by using this spray on the birds, and also monitoring and being consistent with the use of the spray. It is good if your birds are ever outside and have their wild cousins visiting them.

The spray is pleasant smelling and easy to use.

Pros: Works great

Cons: You need to be consistent and follow up
