We recently started using this product on our parakeets. I like the fact that there is no alcohol or soap in this product. It says on the label it contains purcellin (preen oil) and that may be what gives it the smell during use. It's not really an unpleasant smell, but it does smell a little funny when sprayed. I haven't noticed any odor left on the birds.
