This book was one I got from the library when we were gifted with a foal. It was the first time we had a foal so I was a real newbie. This book covered almost everything. I loved the fact that it was organized by year. It talked about the birth, health, feed, handling, haltering/leading, the mare, weaning, hoof trimming, etc.
I learned a great deal from this book and recommend it.

I got this when I had my first and only foal. I used it religiously, ironically, my foal died when he was 5 years old. Not because of the book, it is good, sometimes life is not.

this book is good gor letting you know what is normal through being foaled through the teenage years till they finaly grow into a real horse. good common sense
