"As humans...we can give up two of a kind in search of a full house. Animals do not have that shot at the cards. Animals cannot seek a higher education to improve their life. They cannot seek aid from any agency in the event of a natural disaster. They cannot flee to friends and family members if their lives take a turn for the worse. Animals cannot change the hand they were dealt. They rely solely on us...the human race. We hold their cards. We have the responsibility to deal them a winning hand. WITHOUT A HOME The WITHOUT A HOME series is a wonderful and unique collection of short stories about animals who unexpectedly find themselves - without a home. Open the pages and allow these animals to tell you their stories about their lives before the shelters, their stay at the shelters and about their new lives after the shelters. In WITHOUT A HOME Inspiring and heartfelt tales of dog adoptions, Spike shows Linda that shelters really can be the perfect place to find the "perfect" dog. Daisy, an abused animal seized by animal control, gives her new owner Katerina a gift that is beyond words. Yogi teaches his new master that looks really do not matter, and Jackie softens the heart of Earl, while bringing home the importance of family to her owner. Sal, after being shoved around and classified as "unwanted", gives his new owner an entire new lease on life. A fantastic read for audiences of all ages! Also available in the series - WITHOUT A HOME Inspiring and heartfelt tales of cat adoptions and WITHOUT A HOME Inspiring and heartfelt tales of small animal adoptions. Heartwarming stories

I loved this book and once I finished it, I donated it to my school for others to enjoy. These stories bring tears to your eyes but the endings are thought provoking.

Pros: heartwarming/the dog's life before and after

I would recommend this book to anyone that either operates or volunteers at a shelter! Everyone needs a pick me up now and then, eventhough this book will make you cry..it really goes to show you just how important the job that we do is!

Pros: great short stories-hard to put down once you start
