"interesting" grocery store

I have had a strange experience with Shaw's where if I need something specific, inevitably they don't have it and I have to buy another brand, another flavor, etc. Especially with pet products! But if I am just on a general shopping trip, of course I can find everything I need because Shaw's is a large grocery store. (It is a chain.) Their organic and international sections are fantastic, and they also have a large selection of prepared foods.
Pros: great organic/international section
Cons: doesn't always have basic inventory

Good local store

Shaws Supermarket is a good local store. It serves the community well. They provide a covered area for the New Fairfield/Sherman Animal Welfare Society bake sales, as well as a donation box for the shelter. They also have a community Board for displaying the pets available for adoption.
Pros: community oriented

They treat their animals so well and are good at promoting and finding homes for their animals, they are a non-kill shelter. :)
