Prairie Oaks Metro Park a great place!
Pros: open from dawn to dusk; park ranger patrolled; doggy bags available; well-kept trails; an "off-leash" area along a lake
Cons: must deal with the occasional aggressive/bully owner with almost out-of-control dog or dogs

Review Details
This is a very nice place to go to both get some great exercise, bird watch, spend quality time with your dog, and take in the fresh air. No, it's not a "dog park," but it is very dog friendly. Those visiting are advised that dogs are to be kept on-leash and under control at all times. When Wiggles and I walk, we do occasionally meet the "type A" dog "owners" that want to "impress us" with their lunging, untrained dog, all the while saying, "Teeth here won't bite; he's just wanting to plaaaayyy." Right. So, steer clear of those types and enjoy your visit! Biodegradable poop bags are provided!
