Smallish dog run in the middle of the city's busiest park

Union Square is as busy as any Times Square street. This dog run seems to be a hip singles bar at times. Dogs are frequently uncontrolled and fights can break out. Couple that with a steady stream of spectators and having to fight your way through the crowds at the Green Market with your dog and this makes this particular dog run safe for dogs who are completely comfortable with large crowds and a lot of noise. The pets love to frolic but the gravel is frequently hard on their feet and kicks up a lot of dust. Pet owners don't always clean up after their dogs.
