Barkingham Park Dog Park- Reedy Creek

Seeing the negative reviews surprised me! Maybe it's because I'm from a place where dog parks are unheard of but I thought the park was wonderful! It was nothing fancy but that makes sense- it's in Charlotte!

It's a decent size with about 1/2 having trees and the other wide open. Mollie loved the wooded area- she loves to sniff and explore! Many other dogs enjoyed the free space with games of fetch and such. There was water available, though not always the cleanest. [Again- it's a park!]

I met many great people there and never had a problem with anyone. It seemed that everyone was attentive to there dog's behavior. It may not have been the best dog park ever, but it was only five minutes from my apartment and Mollie loved it. Sure we came home a little muddy, but we always had fun.

We've since moved away from Charlotte and we both miss the dog park like crazy!

Pros: fenced, large, average cleanliness, close to university area

Cons: dirty water

I have been here twice. They changed around the registration process, making it more difficult for those that want to use the area occasionally to register and actually use the park.

This park is part of a much larger park. There are a ton of trails you can walk on with your (leashed) dog. Lots of other recreational activities as well.

Pros: Nice, large area
