Wethersfield Dog Park at Mill Woods

This dog park is a blessing for my own dog (that is a rescued lab mix) and for all the Labs and Lab mixes I have fostered for Lab Rescue groups. Taking them to a safe, friendly place where they can learn to socialize with other friendly dogs and dog-loving humans is a major bonus for these rescued Labs. It helps prepare them for life with a new family. I'm grateful that the dog park is there for their use.

Pros: large fenced area

Cons: very muddy in the late winter and spring

This park is extremely clean, has a bigger fenced-in area than other dog parks I've been to, there are plenty of benches, and a nice group of "regulars" there. Lots of parking, conveniently located whether you're from the area or not, as it's not far from main roads and the highway, and the park puts on several really fun events throughout the year, including dog swims and costume contests.

All-around, it's the best dog park there is in Connecticut!!!

Pros: Clean, big, safe, and easy to get to!

Cons: Running water is shut off in the winter
