Southbury Dog park O&G dog park

Happy place for dogs, lots of room and places to clean up after your dogs.

I went to the Southbury Dog Park out of curiosity from my friends who bring their labs there to play in the river! I was surprised to find out that its a really great park, with great people who are responsible pet owners! I was expecting that my dogs would be trying to fight with everyone's else's dogs and that we would have to leave; but to my amazement my dogs enjoyed themselves and the other dogs. My golden did have a couple admirer's that tried to mount her, but the owners of the male dogs saw my golden was not happy and happily grabbed there dogs and lead them in another direction to give my dog some space! I didn't even need to ask them too! The dogs loved the little river they had flowing there! We had a great time talking to the other owners and socializing with the dogs! The only down side is that the park is not enclosed with a fence all the way around the park, just in the front. I was surprised that my golden didn't try to run off, she stayed close by my side and got excited when other dogs would approach. I was expecting to be chasing her all over the place! I will definitely be bringing my dogs back for more fun in the sun! :o)

Pros: a moderate sized field for the dogs to play, flowing river!

Cons: not fenced in all the way around park
