Pros: it's nice to have dogs at a working/standing height

Cons: rubber matting is too sharp

We have Portuguese Water Dogs and they need regular grooming. I often use the tailgate of my pickup truck and groom/clip outside. But on inclimate days i'll use the table and work on them downstairs. I always put a towel down over the matting because i find that the corrugation seems uncomfortable. Why do i say that? Well, when i press my own hand down upon it and leave it there for a couple of moments, i feel discomfort. So i imagine how it must feel to a dog's paw.
