Sorry everyone that I haven't posted anything new in quite a while. This year at the university have kept me pretty busy! I just thought I'd share with everyone that I will be doing a speech in a few weeks about my campus becoming "small animal" pet friendly, so that less pocket pets are given away, or left all alone at home when kids go off to college. I know its been hard for me finding a place to live, because I would never give my animals away, and my parents would have never let me leave my pets at home when I went off to college. A lot of parents dont realize how long rabbits and other small animals live when they let their children get them, and then when they leave for college it can be a problem for the pets. There are a few schools in the US that allow small animals and reptiles, and I am hoping to bring the idea to my university. If anyone has any ideas or opinions about arguments I might make, I'd be glad to hear them! Keep in mind, this is not to allow dogs and cats, as a college dorm room does not provide enough space for these animals. This would only be to allow animals that could live in a cage during the day, without it being considered inhumane. Thanks everyone!
