WHY LITTLE SHELTER IS BIG ON KINDNESS & CARING

Little Shelter has been caring for Long Island's homeless and helpless animal population for many many years and has done so with extraordinary kindness and respect for all the little (and big) ones in its care. The people who make up the human portion of Little Shelter are saints beyond normal standards. A visit to Little Shelter makes one realize that there is hope beyond hopelessness for so many that have been rescued by this wonderful organiztion. There is an attention to detail that not only takes in the cleanliness and comfort provided by the fabulous staff, it allows one to see how much the special population housed there feels about the love and support they are given. One only has to look into the eyes of all these beautiful creatures to see the reflection of gratitude and that translates to happiness.....something these little ones did not have a lot of prior to being rescued by the Little Shelter "angels".
To provide them with additional access to funding (i.e., the shelter makeover) would be a fitting response to all the selfless acts of kindness the staff gives every day of their lives. They do not have a job at Little Shelter; they "live" their vocation and it shows. They will continue their mission regardless of the outcome of the contest but how wonderful it would be to gift THEM with a miracle as they perform their's every day for all the creatures in their care.
