I have to agree with you Jo. because many of us will not win MONEY but we gain friends and knowledge that we are not alone. I find alot of info on here. it will take them time just like lotteries they dont get the money on the spot.. i would be scared too--better to be a transfer.

Jo, I hope your shelter does well and best wishes to you! I am not really ashamed of what I said as it was said in support of all those at my shelter that work so hard all the time and open their pocketbooks month after month so that we can help animals all around this area. Grants around here dont' seem to ever cover the vast needs we try to meet. We were told we were to pick up our check in LV after we were surprised it wasn't given to us at the site visit...I'm sure all the information on our shelter is already known by zootoo as each shelter had to sign up for this contest. I hope you are right and I'm just not patient enough! It's frustrating in very tough economic times. But we have existed for over 30 years so we will hang in there I'm sure. I have made some special new friends through zootoo and it sounds like you have done the same. I DO hope your shelter does well and regardless, that you keep hanging in there for the good of our furry friends just like I will! Best wishes!

Thank you for your good wishes...I really wasn't going to post, but just really hate to see anyone who is trying to do good have trouble...look at the person who waited till the announcements were being made to create some aura of doubt for zootoo.com - then claimed they hadn't been on in awhile. You would have to be living in a cave to not know yesterday was the day for announcements and stuff.

Nothing is perfect and zootoo may still be working out the kinks...HSUS sponsored our top 10 check and they handed us an envelope with instructions on how to claim it.

Why don't you just email or call Courtney and ask how to claim it. I had to as I was so excited, I just left and forgot about even chatting with her! The quicker you do it, the quicker you will receive it.

As soon as she emails me back I will follow the instructions and get it submitted.

I don't live in a cave, but I don't live on Zootoo either. The shelter I helped this year had no chance of winning because it owns no land, no building.

It's possible that there are a lot of members whose shelters were not in the running and, therefore, April 7th meant nothing more than an average Tuesday.

Ummmm that would be me and I am on Z2 every day and didn't know about the announcement. WHY? Because my shelter won last year so I was not following the contest. My journal and the announcement on the news were telling a side of the story that needed to be told. This is not some sort of conspiracy.

Jo way to reach out and try and get votes for your shelter.... NOT!!! If you don't agree with someones journals thats fine but don't attack them.

No I was at a booth and signing up for Give-a-bowl program and they needed the EIN#. We did NOT get a check today:(

PS. they told us that we will do some paperwork at some point to make it all official. Courtney will be in touch with us...We will get it just not this week...

Bummer! I thought for sure we would -- probably alot of shelters thought the same thing!

I heard today that last years zootoo winner has yet to get any of their million dollar makeover! To date that shelter has spent 170, ooo and has yet to get any money from z2.

I think when I read that same journal entry that they hadn't received threir money for the makeover that it really just put the iciing on the cake. I truly expected the check when we had the site visit - we sure could use the money! I hated to see us spend money to make a trip to LV when we really needed it for all the vet trips we make daily.....I was just heart broken and most on here feel I was being very negative and should be ashamed. Somehow I'm really not as we work so hard and ALL of us at shelters work so hard...and I hope that all of those who have spent so much time getting points and now getting votes get to reap the financial benefits they so deserve! Yes, I made some nice new friends on here, and I also think there were many positive sides to zootoo; however, we did make the top 20 (#13) and we worked hard to get there giving up a lot of time we could have been giving to our shelter - but I'm just afraid we won't see the $5k check, that's all.....I sure hope everyone is right and if we are patient we will receive it soon! I do appreciate all the friends I've made on here but I can't apologize for feeling badly for the 10 shelters that didn't get their checks today..... my hats off to all the shelter volunteers that spend so much time on here! May all our animals benefit some how from this experience!
