What an awesome opportunity this has been. I have never been on a web site like this or belonged to one. There are so many stories out there that people do not hear about that may need to be heard. I have laughed, cried, been dissappointed in people, been happy with people, So many stories. I like how I can put my thoughts in for a story. Sometimes reading others thoughts have helped me spark some thought about things or had me think a little deeper about some issues that we face with animals. I remember when I first heard about this place on the Ellen Show. What a wonderful thing to help the lady with that ranch (I think that is what it was called, maybe a farm). Anyways, then I heard that Zootoo was going to be doing this big million dollar makeover. That got me excited. I hadn't got the chance to get on line, then one day I was at the Dr.'s with one of my kids and someone was asking the ladies behind the desk about it and giving them a paper about the makeover. I thought, perfect time to be nebby! I got a paper from the lady and returned to work after the appointment and made copies! I made sure I told everyone about it and even assisted people in signing up. We hung the paper up at work. So I thought, Hey at church I am going to announce this! God gave us these animals to take care of and I am going to do my part! So I hung a paper up at church. Once a week I teach the youth group at our church, 2nd-6th grade. I thought, hey, they always ask for prayer for animals at prayer time. They will take this paper home and have their parents sign up! So we did that. The kids were so excited! We also have teen youth group right after. So I told them about it and got them to sign up. They took a paper to their school the next day and showed the teachers. The teachers were excited and even ran a contest to get kids to sign up. I also sent out little reminders to people that I knew were already signed up, to get on Zootoo and read stories and make comments. I told them to make a review. Just about everywhere I went I asked people if they were Zootooers. Alot of people knew what I meant and some did not. I explained to them what you were all about. I would get a response sometimes, "do you work for the humane society?" I would laugh and tell them "you would think so with all the spreading of the word I am doing". But no , unfortunatly I do not work for them. I have 3 kids that keep me VERY busy and we live about 45 minutes away from there. So I figured "you know, I would love to go and volunteer but really it is a bit difficult, so I will do what I can. I am hoping that one day I will be able to do things there. I love to walk dogs. I heard a few people say that they know someone who does that and they just love it! We have so many animal loving people in this area. I think it really shows with the support that we have on Zootoo. I mean , we did have the MOST POINTS after all. In fact we had so many that we were VERY far ahead. Come on, how deserving is that?!?!? We also have a facility that is in pretty poor condition. I haven't been there for a long time, but everyone says how there is just not enough room and things need updated really bad. The one thing that is not bad though, is the dedication the people all have there! What another obvious thing with all the support that is given on here. Not to metion all the good things people have said in the comments for the Humane Society. This past week at youth group I was very happy to inform the children that we were in the #1 spot! Which, we thought we were the winners, until I saw that we still had to do some more work. So Here I am, I will be spreading the word, once again to get on and write a journal. Which anyways, I have still been talking to people about your site. I am a very big suppoter of Zootoo and what you are doing! I will continue to get on and do as I have been doing with the site, it has been a great time! Hey, I even learned how to download pictures! I am not very computer suave. LOL I hope that you pick The Washington Humane Society of 84 Pa. We have the most points, by far!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!
