The Final 3.........

Well, the Final 3 did not include Second Chance Animal Shelter but we are still winners in every sense of the word...the contest brought our small shelter into the spotlight in our little town of 2,000 people and far beyond.. I am so very proud of Sheryl and the work she has done to start and keep us going, I am proud of each & every volunteer, of each & every person that spent many lonnnng nights working on zootoo (you know who you are LOL). We have accomplished so much already and we have so much more work to do.. sit back, take a few deep breaths because when Sheryl gets back from Florida there is work to be done! Time never stops at an Animal Shelter, kittens to rescue, puppies to place, vaccines to give, spay/ neuters to perform, newsletters to write and on, and on.. Everyone, consider yourself hugged !!!

Hi I met Sheryal (sp) & Kristen down in Florida and I they are wonderful people. I wanted to congratulate you on the little extra you guys got for the spay/neuter program.. & just a congratulations for making it in the top 20 in the first place ;-D

Great attitude! I've been reading some of the 'sour grapes' comments and I'm shocked at some of these comments. Are these people really adult animal lovers? The name calling is so juvenile. Nuff about that. I just found out Second Chance did not make the final three. I'm disappoint but I'll get over it without writing disparaging remarks. All the shelters are winners even those who did not make the top 20. People got together for one purpose, that being our love for animals. If it were not for ZooToo, many of us would not have enjoyed being a part of a wonder opportunity to support our beloved animals. What an experience. I am proud of our 'little shelter', we may have not won the million but we still have our values, pride and love of Gods creatures in order. I agree, we have to put on our thinking caps and think of how we can make the needed updates, knowing that it is up to us to make it work. I tip my hat to Sheryl and her shelter help. They are wonderful. Congratulations to us all!!!

Yeah, unfortunately it didn't include our shelter either, but I guess we can't all win eh? Anyways, you are right, all the shelters involved won much more than money can buy. The makeover would be super-sweet, and the animals will win either way (maybe not OUR animals this time, but someones animals will and thats what matters).

That was a very positive entry Haley's Mom.You can not think of it as being a loss,because if you did that would make everything that you've worked so hard for to be all for nothing,and that is so far from the truth.
Public awareness is huge--Team efforts are a win ,win situation.
With all the Blood,Sweat,and tears that so many shelters put into this contest,everyone has spoken for the animals,and made a lot more people aware of what is going on in the world,and how we need to continue with our missions.
Hopefully,new ideas have been formed,more incentive & determination to do the right things,so that more people will involve themselves-whether it be in the form of donations,or some volunteer time to make our shelters what they deserve to be.
I really felt like crying when they chose the final three.They all deserve it for sure,but that doesn't make it any easier for the people who didn't get the funding.
Maybe Zootoo should have just split the million 20 ways.

Not making the Top 3 simply gives us more determination... I know on my part I have already started thinking what can we do next to raise money - we still need more space, a septic system, ventilation, more surgical space, family room, cat porch , oh the list just goes on :) and the problems didn't stop because the contest did - so thinking caps are on around here as to what our next steps will be - why ? Because it's all always about the animals .....................
