As a volunteer, my wife got me involved with the shelter. It's amazing what they can accomplish with what little they have--I can only image what they could do with more! This county is growing very fast but the shelter is unable to keep up with the demands because of funds, especially with the economy in the shape its in. Unfortunately, they don't have access to the donor base that shelters in Milwaukee and Waukesha have and count on lots of small fundraisers to help keep them above water. A makeover, or even $10,000 would give the WCHS the ability to expand their facility and their services. Please don't pass them by.
