Shelter Makeover - Little Shelter

Little Shelter is a staple here on LI and represents all the best practices of a no kill shelter. Their little band of volunteers have been working hard to protect dogs and cats for many years. I really feel they are exceptional with the hard to place animals. Very few shelters will take them in and Little Shelter can't take them all, but does make an attempt to save some of these animals and give them a nice life on the property.
They are excellent these last few years getting publicity out there so people know to come to them for their animal adoptions.
They work hard trying to promote spay and neutering. I have experienced them turning down an adopter because he refused to get the dog he already had in his home neutered. That is a hard principle to stick to when you are faced with a person willing to take a hard to adopt pitbull who was spayed already but they stuck to their guns.
This beautiful property has such great potential and in great need for a makeover. I is old and tired. Let this great organization get some new life to help it continue its great work. Regards, Lyn(Madelyn) Harper
