shelter makeover journal

The shelter I am affiliated with is Henderson county. The were 18th in the rankings. I live in Evansville, Indiana which is just a quick 5 or 10 minute drive across the bridge. I am a foster parent for the humane society in my town, they were fortunate enough to have built a new shelter not that long ago. I saw on the morning news one day before work that the Henderson Humane Society was on there showing the shelter and talking about the contest. I saw that none of the dogs had beds, just concrete floors, and that the roof leaks. They also discussed rodent problems and just being up to speed on the types of ammenities they need to properly serve and house all of the animals that they have. I just think that if at all possible that the dogs deserve beds, a non-leaking roof, and the best of everything if possible. I love animals and people that try to the best they can for them so I figure filling out some surveys, discussing news, and getting other people to join was the least I could do.
