Shelter Makeover

The SPCA in Cattaraugus County deserves a makeover. This SPCA obtains most of its income through fundraisers. Our county is a poor one. People have few opportunities for jobs, and therefore, have little money to donate. Our shleter needs a lot of repairs and makeovers. The SPCA of CAttaraugus County needs a revamped heating system,a new roof, a ventalion system and another set of industrial washer and dryers. The dryer and washer that they now use, breaks down, then it costs $35 a day to dry clothes. I know this as it was just fixed. The dryer was broke down for about 1 month. Both the washer and dryer are older.
A ventalation system would 'clean the air'. One of the biggest complaints of visitors to our SPCA is the smell. A ventalation system would help with that, plus it would help in stopping the spreading of disease in the shelter. Last week I stoppe by the shelter and They had a bucket to catch rain water in the building, so I know the roof leaks. Our facility is quite old; and could surely use some repairs. I know Phillip Barrett and Kelly Chaffee would like to create a more 'homey' place for the dogs. Because the SPCA of Cattaraugus County is a NO KILL SHELTER, many of the older dogs will live their life there, and they deserve a more homey place to live. That would be great; However, the repairs I have mentioned above are needed first. I hope ZOOTOO can help our shelter become more 'liveable' for the hundreds of animals who live there.
