Shelter
There is no doubt that winning this award would benefit our shelter immeasurably. We are an economically depressed area, and we are in an area of mentally irresponsible animal owners.
There are not the laws on the books at this time that allow strong enforcement of abusers. Even if the Sheriff's Department and city law attend our inspection. We desperately need their help.
There are so many things needed to improve our shelter, for me an area to drop dogs along with isolation facility's. I feel a dog drop area would save a higher number of dogs from road deaths. And the ability to isolate puppies would be such a good thing. Parvo is so prevalent here.
I am just happy we have this opportunity to participate in this program.
