My last journal entry of the contest.

Henry at LHS. We're doing it for guys like him!
I contemplated literally all day what I would do when I got home. I knew ordering Chinese food was on the agenda. I knew that I would come home to Sharky jumping all over me and Muse following me all over the house. I ordered food and hung out upstairs with Sharky and Haley. Sharky begged, but since I've restricted his diet to low grain kibble, he got nothing from begging aside from a ball that he tore up in under a minute. Now he's laying on my bed with the scrunched up face of his. Muse is outside of my room, putting his paws under the door, hoping I'll let him in (I will soon, but he's distracting with his knocking everything off of my desk and dresser.)

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I'll be in cat isolation for most of it. Tommy's potential adopter is coming to meet me and Tommy at some point. I'm excited for the little guy. He's quite a looker.

Isolation is one of my favorite places to work. I get to work at my own pace and take extra care to the kitties in need. I clean eyes, ears, faces, cages, and basically give everyone a fresh litter box when we have ample litter. Then I tackle the ringworm room. I'm notorious for my ringworm room ethics. I've watched so many come and go in ringworm to find their furrever homes.

Sunday Zootoo is coming. We also have the St. Patty's parade here in Jersey City. Me and Sharky are marching. I may also bring Georgia, my roommate's dog. It's going to be a blast, but hectic after helping out at LHS all morning to welcome Zootoo.

I know this journal may have no motive, but I just felt like sharing. I've learned a lot about people and their pets through this contest. I hope that some of us will continue to use the site on a daily to weekly basis to stay in touch.

May the neediest shelter win the makeover!

Lara, Phase I of the contest is over and I'm still reading. Main reason for this comment is to let you know Liane and I are still checking in and that this entry was read. What we enjoyed most about the contest is getting to know the other volunteers and the staff better and to stay better informed about what is going on around the shelter. While the newsletter that Allison puts out helps, she certainly can't include all of the detail and items that come up in various journal entries.

Liane and I plan on checking in at least on a weekly basis but probably more frequently. We hope that those who have been active will continue to share items of interest and we will do likewise.

Thanks for the last journal entry and thanks for many of your others that I enjoyed for one reason or another. Several of the LHS affiliates wrote a number of entries that I very much enjoyed and appreciated. Your one of those affiliates and a lot of your entries are on that list.

Thank you for sharing.
