Liberty Humane Shelter

Sandra and her family

Sandra, her family, friends, volunteers and the community are working hard to improve the humane care and education in Hinesville. This is the first location I've been to where the Animal Control and the city shelter are together. They actually share the same building. I met the Animal Control officers and they seem to have a good working relationship with Sandra to save as many animals as possible, but still too many are euthanized. Sandra and her family of volunteers are determined to change that. The Mayor and other city and county officials were there to show their support and I have a sneaking suspicion we are going to get a nice sign for Sandra between all of them working together. Sandra commented that it was the first time that some of the city/county officials had been through the shelter. So I am proud to say I am bringing the shelter and the community together and it’s working. Keep up the good work Sandra and the volunteers. God bless.

Thank you so much for the nice words. Richard was very nice and very helpful making suggestions, and trying to get us to network with other shelters, walmart, target, and of course, the city and county. I look forward to the trip to Vegas to see what else is in store for us.

Liberty ran a heck of a campaign to get into to top 20! Even though my heart belongs to St. Tammany, I do wish you the best of luck!

Thank you very much, Mr. Thompson for your visit and kind comments. It has been a truly amazing journey getting into the Top 20. The diligent efforts of the LHS staff, our community, military, and surrounding communities has been inspiring and heartwarming. We ALL care so much about our lost, furry friends and each other. Regardless of the final outcome, I want to give my personal thanks to Zootoo for giving us this unforgettable opportunity. Take care and God bless. Julee C.

Thank you so much Mr. Thompson for your visit and talk. I had to be at a funeral, so was unable to attend the event. Sandra and staff have been working their hearts out to bring awareness to the plight of animals in our area, and after watching the video, it seems that what you were aiming to accomplish by this contest, namely, community awareness, is beginning to unfold. If they know that the city/county officials are behind them and interested in the shelter being able to find lifelong, adoptable homes, then this makes their work a little less heart wrenching. As I am sure you are aware, moral support can be just as rewarding as financial support. Once again, many thanks for your visit and the wonderful work you are doing for all our little friends around this great country of ours.

Hi Sandra and all at Liberty!
Congrats on a great visit! I would love to hear more about your AC situation. We are somewhat of a hybrid ourselves. Perhaps we can touch base in las Vegas!
