kennel makeover

What a farce this turned out to be. You made everyone beleive a vote for my shelter would help it win a makeover, when you already had your winners picked. Our shelter in little Eighty Four Pa. outdistanced all these shelters in big cities, like St. Louis,by over 900,000 votes and we still are not even in the top ten! You kept changing the rules to make sure the larger cities would be in the top five, more publicity for My Zootoo. I will do everything in my power to expose this ripoff.

I totally agree!

If anyone wants to try to help WAHS get a makeover "our way", please come to the Canonsburg Eagle's Lodge (122 North Central Ave) Tuesday 27 at 7 pm. Look at what we were able to do by getting to #1 on zootoo.... who would've thought our little shelter could do that? But we DID do it, and now we can try to raise money on our own to build a new shelter (or at least fix the holes in the ceilings?) . We all need to join together, put our heads together, and yes, we CAN do this if we all try!
Feel free to message me for more details

The way this contest was handled was quite poor. Zoo Too misled everyone that participated. I love animals and I support several shelters, the ASPCA and the American Humane SOciety. WAHS is one of the shelters that I support. I can't believe those of you that are criticizing the folks that are disappointed on this outcome cannot admit it is totally justified. I personally am very bitter over the whole experience. If I had known that the points part of this contest was essentially meaningless, I would have spent my valuable time on something else.

In my opinion this whole contest was presented fraudently.

The WAHS shelter representative was quoted in a local newspaper article citing all of the positive outcomes of the contest. I salute her for her forgiving attitude. I do not possess the same quality!

The points part of the contest was not meaningless. The points are what got you into the top 20. They are what got you your $11,000 prize.

WAHS - what would you have done differently if you knew that points didn't automatically guaranty you a place in the three finalists?

While it is understandable that WAHS as an organization is upset that they did not make the Top 3, I do find it a little odd that certain of their supporters are this riled up over the outcome. Your 'valuable' time involved all of 1 review, 56 news comments, and 3 journal entries--a contribution that only kept you at zoophyte status. There are those from other shelters that wrote 700+ product reviews, thousands of news comments, uploaded hundreds of pictures and videos (eg., yours truly), and they do not seem quite as upset as you. Please, put things into perspective. I do feel sorry for WAHS for not making at least the Top 3, but let the level of outrage be consistent with your personal level of contribution to this contest.

And "in perspective" would entail placing more blame on the Pittsburgh area media (e.g., WTAE Channel 4 News) than on zootoo (which at least DOES have some written rules regarding the "top 20" and selection from within the same for the makeover).

I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WERE CHECKING ! I MOST CERTAINLY WAS ON ZOOTOO AND REVIEWED AND COMMENTED A BUNCH OF PRODUCTS.

You seem very certain that you reviewed many products. That's strange because the account associated with "jr0929" lists one review, two journal entries (May 16, May 18), and nothing else. Were almost all of your reviews deleted?

Woops, sorry we missed that one in-depth review you did and your 120 points.

I just went to your zootoo site, you have NO points, you spent NO time working towards helping your shelter win and NOW you have the ordacity to write a journal entry! I rest my case.

You so haven't done much on this site at all either.

YOU ARE SO NOT WHAT ZOOTOO IS ABOUT!

Read (reread in your case!),listen, and use your head..... points got you into the top twenty and then they meant nothing in deciding the winner! How can you not get that very important point?

How can you be so negative? Look what it has done for animals and people everywhere! Everyone that didn't win is sad that it couldn't help "their" animals but it is going to help someone's animals and isn't that what this is all about? You seem to have forgotten that this about animals and not you.

Please rethink your comments and your feelings, ZOOTOO is here as a friend to help animals.

Looks as if Richard should have used his head before he spoke.

Richard states in several videos what alot of these folks are saying. Why don't YOU educate yourself. You haven't bothered to be on this site for a month and now come back to blast everyone?

Gee, which shelter are you with??? Guess it's easy to be in the cheap seats. What a humble top three shelter you guys are turning out to be.

People have a right to speak their minds...if they are smart they'd delete your nasty comments.

WAHS has beat this topic into the ground. Although my shelter did not make the top 3, we were grateful for the exposure we got as well as the $6,000. WAHS not only got the $6,000, they also got an extra $5,000 for getting the most points. Plus they received quite a few large donations locally because of the contest.

I suggest the WAHS whiners watch their shelter tour video again. What happened to "it's all about the animals". WAHS supporters have shown their true colors.

I have supported WAHS for the Makeover contest and I have not been on ZooToo "whining" about their loss. I don't think a "blanket" statement should be made as many of the supporters have offered congrats to the finalist. Yes ther is disapointment as there is with all who didn't make the finals. Don't judge all by the word of a few!

This doesn't apply to all WAHS supporters. They are just disappointed. I think the media had mislead many into thinking that it was just about the points. I found an old news headline on WPXI.com which is a Pittsburgh news station that states that the shelter with the most points wins the million dollar makeover. I think that is why I was under this impression. This is where I first heard about Zootoo. Maybe most took their word and didn't read the rules.

Maybe WPXI got their information from Richard's comments on the morning shows.

They also happen to be the only shelter to carry on a large scale whining campaign. Your supporters are the representatives of your entire organization.

Okay, venting is over. Your supported group did not make it. Grow up and move onto helping the dogs that you have. All you are doing is making WAHS look like they are crazy. I don't think they are, but you and a select few are.

As for the contest, the Zootoo people visited all 20 locations to see who could use the makeover. I am sure all did need the makeover, but who would be able to use it better. There must have been something that the top 3 did that WAHS did not.

When you spill milk do you stay awake all night thinking about it? I hope not.

Great comments! I could not agree with you more!
