I have been helping at this shelter since I was 8 years old. I have bottle feed babys, taught dogs to walk on leashes, took a puppy mill mom and made her adoptable, and cleaned a LOT of poop. My friends at school ask me pet questions, and I have promoted our shelters low cost spay neuter program. My teachers are even impressed with my work ethic, and my ability to over come any argument as to why we must be responsible with our pets, and spay/neuter.
All this is becasue of the patient staff at our shelter. They have taken the time to show me now 14 how to care for these fur babies, they have been supportive when something goes wrong, they smile when I walk thru the door, and give me a warm welcome. I am not just a kid to them I am a part of their team, and It feels good to help save lives.
OH and I will always be greatful for the my fur babies that i got fromthisshelter. If they werenotso patient, Phoebe would have been put down. she came in as a fear bitter, When my mom saw her ON MY BIRTHDAY, she said let me try to help this little girl, and Katie will take her, becaseu shes been waiting very paitainly for a blond chi to come thru the shelter. If we can get this dog to relax, we will adopt her. 2 days later, she was my best friend. All thanks to the shelter!
I really hope we get the money to make over this shelter, becasue there is so many more lives to save!
