Help wanted --make that help NEEDED!

Well Bobbi and the Strays came in as shelter #20 for the shelter makeover contest.

Maybe now they can win the makeover.

I viewed other shelter videos and I just want to applaud everyone of these wonderful shelters. After all they all have the same goal, to improve conditions and help all the poor animals that have no family to love them—yet.

However, I hope with all my heart that Bobbi wins. Her shelter is the neediest, in my opinion. Her location is not easily accessible- in the middle of JFK airport. Not many come to adopt at the airport. Not many can even find the shelter. This is only one of the problems that they face.

Another matter that cries for attention is the wonderful larger dogs that are kept at the shelter. They really are great dogs. Pretty darn well behaved, too. They get several walks a day by the volunteers and they get training, too. In between there are some treats and yes, a bit of love, too.

It’s such a pity that they have to be jailed in a cell that barely gives them even enough room to turn around. A full stretch in the cell is impossible for most. The walls are cold tile, the floor is cold, hard concrete. Due to the size of the cage, not too much bedding fits. After all, food and water must also fit in the cage, and they must always have water.

They shouldn’t have to live like this, but this must remain where they live until they get into loving homes. Some have been there for over a year.

Bobbi also saves cats and gets them into wonderful homes. However, they too, must remain in solitary cages until someone adopts them. There is no cat room where they could and should be able to roam freely – just another cell until they get a home.

Bobbi and the STrays own nothing! Bobbi leases and her lease is coming to an end.

It would be fantastic is some one of means would open their heart and perhaps donate a building or property or give the organization some financial backing. I do believe in miracles and it’s time for one now.

Bobbi and the strays are pocket poor. They don’t have money. But what they lack monetarily, they sure make up with hearts filled with love for all animals. They say that what goes around comes around. I sure hope so and I hope with all my heart that it is very soon.
